So you seek the two song sheets? If you truly want them, you will help the cause of the Unkempt Druids. Otherwise, you would have to fight me for it. So, which will it be? Will you help the Unkempt Druids or will you fight me?

The Unkempt Druids are the voices of the trees and the animals. We fight for the hunted prey and the vanishing forests. We are the true druids and rangers who fight for the preservation of nature. If humanoid lives must be sacrificed to meet this goal, then so be it!

Wise decision. I ask you then, to go to the western plains of Karana. Seek a farmer called Linaya Sowlin. Bring me her heart. A heart for a song sheet. Fitting, don't you think?

'A flute, eh? I do have a flute I got from a bard named Cordelia. You can have it if you do me a favor.

Oh!! Will you? Well then, go into the Plains of Karana and search for a man named Talym Shoontar. He is a murderer of Norrath's creatures. He must be stopped! Bring me his head and you shall have your flute.

The place I speak of is the Estate of Unrest. It is a place that the dead roam and the living detest. Garanel Rucksif was his name, a name that no longer came to be . A name that Quellious herself saw fit not to let anyone see, for a cleric loyal to her called the lands home. Open to all, the Fier'Dal, Koada'Dal and even the occasional [gnome].

A mansion built by the cleric with care, for he came to spread the word of Quellious to Faydwer. Garanel mad with rage, killed his wife and children three. From his dwarven homelands he now will flee. Upon this place of tranquility he stumbled upon. He tortured and killed the cleric and his kin by morning's dawn. Within the sacred chapel walls the bloodshed took place. Eyes wild with rage, madness and blood upon his [face].

Quellious, enraged by this act of violence and murder, decreed that this would continue no further! Garanel was struck down, his soul cursed forever more, to haunt the grounds of the defiled estate, guarding its bloody floor. Undead monsters, ghosts and [ghouls] slaughter all those who stray. They say his undead power grows within him to this day. This sad tale, my friends, is the Legend of Unrest.

I've even heard of the ghosts of poor children haunting the estate. Have you ever [seen a child's ghost]?

What's that you say? You wish to have the doll I was to give her? Whatever for? Bah! Nevermind me. I rant like an old woman sometimes. This is no place for you. These Splitpaws are very fierce. Only the power of Rodcet Nife will guide them to the light. By the way, I might warn you that the cells here lock behind you.

I require the returned note I gave you, a Testimony of Truth, a Sword of Faith and finally the hilt of Soulfire. The Testimony and Sword of Faith are earned in the Hall of Truth, but for the hilt of Soulfire you shall have to battle [Xicotl].

Xicotl is the evil troll who attempted to steal Soulfire from the vaults of the Temple of Life. The hilt of Soulfire broke off during the battle and now rests in the hands of this troll shadowknight. From what I have heard, he is frequently an invited guest at the castle called Mistmoore. Woe to any paladin who dares set foot upon the land of Mistmoore, but should you attempt it you might search the guest rooms for the troll. May Rodcet Nife walk with you.

In the name of the [Brotherhood of the Lost Circle], I greet you.

The [monks of the Whistling Fist] are called the Lost Circle by others. We are an ancient league of monks, long forgotten and nearly extinct. Within this realm, there are only two. [Brother Zephyl] and myself. We seek the items stolen from us. I seek the [Code of Zan Fi].

The monks of the Whistling fist were forged from the vision of the great master, Zan Fi. When the Combine Empire reigned supreme, a single bard grew to learn the ways of the monk. This bard was Zan Fi. The brotherhood was all but destroyed in the times that followed. Now only a few remain to carry on Zan Fi's legacy.

The tome called the Code of the Whistling Fist has been stolen from me. It contains many secrets pertaining to our brotherhood. Thankfully, it is magically locked and only a Zan Fi master could unlock it. I require a monk to retrieve it. Would you be an [interested monk]?

Then venture into the depths beyond the great Solusek Mining Company. There, living among the kobolds, will be Targin the Rock. Get the book from him, then return here and wait for my reappearance. Brother Zephyl is searching for one who can return the [idol of Zan Fi]. I believe he is somewhere in the vicinity of the Rathe Mountains.

The idol of Zan Fi is a totem that is sacred to our brotherhood. I cannot share its secrets, but I can tell you that [Brother Zephyl] will offer to you a reward for its return..

I only use the finest lute strings on my lute. My uncle got them for me from across the world. His name was Zendrik the Wurmslayer. As his name implies, he killed many wurms and drakes. The strings for my lute were all made from the guts of the wurms and drakes he slew.

The strings were from a chromodrac, a red wurm and a huge onyx drake. It always sounded so wonderful.' Kelkim sighs, looking off to the horizon. As she shakes her lute angrily, she says, 'I'll kill all of you dirty gnolls!

Hail. I am Shakrn Meadowgreen, Warrior extraordinaire and Master Armorer of the Meadowgreen family. My brother and I craft [armor] for the bravest warriors in the land -- do you think you [qualify]?

I smith [Helms], [Gauntlets], [Boots] and [Vambraces]. My brother Ulan smiths Bracers, Greaves, Pauldruns and Breastplates.

So you are a warrior of renown? [Prove] it to me and I will smith you [armor] befitting your exalted station.

You will prove yourself to me the old fashioned way, by killing things and bringing me back proof of your deed. Bah. What other way is there?

Say: “helm”

One of my brethren spoke to me of the mystic properties of the Fire Totems carried by the Goblin High Shaman in Solusek's Eye. My mighty Centaur body will not fit down those twisty goblin passages, so I have not been able to acquire one on my own. As proof of your powers, I ask you to bring me a Fire Totem and one [Ruby] stone. Do so and I will reward you with a Crafted Helmet.

Say: “gauntlets”

Crafted Gauntlets - the mark of a distinguished warrior. I have a personal grudge to settle with those twice-cursed Aviaks. They have been raiding our merchant convoys for the last few weeks, causing mischief to no end. Bring me an Aviak charm from a Avocet - I am sure that you will not need me to tell you how to get it. An Aviak Charm and two [Star Rubies], and I will reward you with Crafted Gauntlets.

Say: “boots”

One of my brethren spoke to me of the mystic properties of the Frost Totems carried by the Goblin High Shamans in Permafrost Keep. I have been unable to fetch one for myself, as my Centaur's body will not fit through the tunnels of those sniveling wretches. Prove your might by gifting me a Frost Totem and two [Sapphire] stones. Do this and I will reward you with a pair of Crafted Boots.

Come, Warrior, and speak to me of your strength. Bring me the Eye of a Griffon that I might eat it raw in the fashion of my ancestors. Do this for me - then gift me with two [Fire Emeralds], and for you I will make a Crafted Vambrace.

Greetings. I am Ulan Meadowgreen of the family Meadowgreen. My brother and I are the best Armorers in all of Norrath. We craft [armor] for the bravest warriors in the land. If you are a Warrior of renown, and are interested in our armor, I have some mighty [labors] which you might attempt for me.

I smith [Bracers], [Greaves], [Pauldrons] and [Breastplates]. My brother Shakrn smiths Helms, Gauntlets, Boots and Vambraces.

Only those who can prove themselves mighty warriors deserve to wear our crafted armor. While my brother prefers trophies, I seek instead tasks which will help my craft and my people.

The fine sheen that you see on our Crafted Armor is produced by a mixture of river berries and juice squeezed from the Optic Nerves of an Evil Eye. We are always in need of more Optic nerves for our armor. Bring me a handful of Optic Nerves and a [Sapphire], and I will give you a Crafted Bracer for your trouble.

Say: “greaves”

Years ago, a Necromancer most foul terrorized the people of the Karanas. This wretch stole a [circlet] that father was smithing for my sister. It was very easy to recognize - shining silver like the light of dawn breaking. I have heard rumors that this Necromancer has settled in the depths of Najena. Return this circlet to me and gift me with two [Star Rubies], and I will reward you with Crafted Greaves.

The circlet my father forged was of the finest silver, ready to be enchanted by our more magical cousins. It is a shame we never had the chance to finish the work.

In the Caverns of Clan Runny Eye live several Evil Eyes of prestigious magical power. Split amongst them are the three lost pieces of the legendary [Rune of Dwarves]. When assembled, this Rune is said to impart a mystic skill to the smith who holds it. Bring me these three pieces and a [Fire Emerald], and I will smith for you a Pauldren worthy of the mightiest of warriors.

The Rune of Dwarves once rested in the heart of the city of Kaladim. Years ago, the goblins of Clan Runnyeye stole it from the dwarves. No one I have ever spoken to knows how it was broken. It is not hard to guess, however, why the evil eyes now hold them.

Deep within the depths of Castle Mistmoore live a particularly deadly clan of Werewolves. These are the servants of [Mayong], and he has enchanted the most ferocious of them that their talons might cut through steel. I wish to study these talons, and see if I can transfer the enchantments from them to the Crafted Armor that I make. If you bring me Werewolf talons and [Rubies], then I will give to you a Breastplate the likes of which you have never before seen.

Mayong Mistmoore is the ruler of Castle Mistmoore. He has ruled there for centuries, and will most likely rule for centuries more to come. It is said that he does not age.

I need a sapphire for a piece of jewelry my brother and I are crafting.

Nice to meet you. Do not the plains of Karana abound with life? This land is truly blessed by the gods. Would you like to [hear a tune] or will you pass up the opportunity?

Inside this heart, I am trapped with the sight of beautiful colors, all memories of your love. They attack me with full might. It does need work. It should make the listener sad. I fear all my best tunes are behind me. That's why I am here. I am trying to write a [new composition].

I have come here to create my greatest composition. I call it 'The Winds of Karana.' Alas, the song sheets have been taken from me. While I, ahem, attended to some personal business, a hermit came and stole two song sheets from my pack. It would be grand if, in your journeys, you were to come upon this hermit of the plains and return my song sheets to me. I would pay dearly. Now, I must get back to my thoughts. Please excuse me.

It takes a broken heart to truly appreciate that tune. I'm glad you enjoyed it. My dear [Metala] left me one year ago. The wound has healed, but the scar remains. I am presently trying to complete a [new composition]. Maybe that will turn me around.

Say: “Metala”

My dear sweet Metala Highflit. She was a bard I trained and fell in love with. We were perfect together. We composed many love ballads during those years. I just love the way she used to brush the hair away from her face and to see her in the moonlight brought daylight to my soul . We had such times ! I remember once, we had dinner at the Lion's Mane and we ordered a burrow pie for dessert. She got some whipped cream on her nose! Oh, it was so cute... am I [boring] you or should I tell you [where it went wrong]?

I understand. I must find a way to lift my spirits so that my audience will also be uplifted. I'm sure my new composition will help me overcome this sadness.

It was like that for years and then it all just ended. She began to hang around some man called Garuc Anehm. She started attending evening functions. She said it was choir practice for the Temple of Life. Do you want to know [what I found out], or am I [boring] you?

Feeling neglected, I also went to join the choir. To my shock, I learned from High Priestess Jahnda that Metala was never in the choir. When I mentioned that fellow Garuc's name, she gave me a dirty look and would say nothing further. I must be boring you. You don't want to [hear the end]...

I went home to confront Metala. All I found was an empty house and a note. 'Sorry to leave. Thank you for all you have taught me. My new friends have shown me new paths of pain. My music shall sing for a new generation of bard. Goodbye.' <sigh> I never saw her again . Whatever she has started is twisted and contorted. It is not the music of the soul.
